How To Get Your Home And Backyard Ready For a Large GatheringOn February 6, 2019 by johnny
Getting the home ready for a party or family gathering can be one of the most stressful things for the host. A lack of preparation can lead to the event being a disaster as lack of food or drinks will be all a person remembers. The prep of the home also needs to be top notch as lack of seating lends itself to a lot of awkward standing around. Creating a checklist needs to be done as you do not want to forget to do something important in the last minute rush. Taking this approach will allow you to be ready days before allowing you to concentrate on other details. The following are tips to get your home and backyard ready for a large party/gathering.
Seating needs to be up to par when you are having a large gathering as this is where people will socialize. The backyard also has to have a decent amount of seating as people gravitate to seating and the kitchen. Foldable chairs are the perfect option so asking attendees to bring these can be a huge help if you do not have any. If watching a big game then it is important to have the game on outside and inside. With streaming and HDMI cords this is far easier than it was in the past.
A Clean Feel/Smell
Nobody wants to host an event where attendees talk about how the home smelled after they leave. A homemade disinfectant spray can handle this for the most part but with certain pets it can be more difficult. Even if you think the home smells fine you can still light a few candles to help with this. For a Christmas gathering lighting cinnamon smelling candles can help get everyone in the holiday spirit. Make sure to do a cleaning the day of the gathering as larger families can create a huge mess in a small amount of time.
Insect Repellant Outside
The last thing that you want is to have people go outside to socialize only to be greeted by a mass of mosquitos. This does not mean that you have to burn those candles that at times can smell terribly. There are Tiki torches that can handle the job as well as give the backyard an exotic feel. Being able to cook outside and have attendees eat there allows for a quick cleanup as well as using paper plates which can be a lifesaver come dishes time.
Lock Doors In The Home
There are just some places that you do not want nosey guest going into rooms that they are not allowed to go in. This can be an issue not only with guests but also with children so it can be a safety issue. Bedroom doors being locked is not a sign that people are not welcome in the home but they are not welcome in those rooms. Leave the bathroom open with the light on so people understand which doors they can enter and which ones are off limits.
Get your home ready for a large gathering and have people saying great things after they leave. Throwing a party can be stressful but it can help in a myriad of ways whether professionally, personally, or within your family.
